To provide a place to belong

VISION

The greatest need of today's disconnected world is to belong, to feel you are valued and wanted. Our church family places utmost importance on meeting this need. For faith to take hold and grow, everyone first needs to know that they matter. You matter to God and you matter to us! So, we want all of our gatherings, ministries, and activities to be a place to belong to…

  • Jesus – It’s Jesus life and love that shows us what God is like. Faith in Him is what connects us to back to God and enables us to know truth and to love both God and others.

  • Community – We don’t just want to be a friendly church, we want there to be friends in the church for everyone! The Scriptures teach that we are parts of a body—we need one another to be whole in Christ. We have not arrived, but through the power of the Holy Spirit, we are being transformed to be more like Jesus every day. This doesn't just apply to us individually, but corporately as well. Together we are becoming a people of God who reflect his presence and character through our love, hope and outward expressions.

  • Purpose – As we are connected God through faith in Jesus Christ, as we grow in community with others and are filled with His Spirit, we are called to extend that same love and community to all. This means we have a job to do and we want people to discover that they belong to a purpose—to make Christlike disciples!

To be and to make Christlike disciples.

BELIEFS

We affirm and uphold the teachings of Jesus and the Scriptures.

The Articles of Faith in the Church of the Nazarene are those things that are essential to our theology. Here is a summary of those 16 articles:

THE TRIUNE GOD:
We believe in One God, the Creator of all things, who reveals himself as Father, Son and Spirit.

JESUS CHRIST:
We believe in Jesus Christ, who is fully God and fully man at the same time, who became like us, died and was resurrected to bring our salvation.

THE HOLY SPIRIT:
We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is active in the world bringing us to salvation.

THE HOLY SCRIPTURES:
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, giving us all we need to know about how to be saved.

SIN, ORIGINAL & PERSONAL:
We believe that we are all sinners by both nature and act and need God’s forgiveness and cleansing.

ATONEMENT:
We believe that Jesus Christ died on the Cross and we can be restored to a right relationship to God.

PREVENIENT GRACE:
We believe that God has enabled us to turn to Him from our sin but that He has not forced us to do so.

REPENTANCE:
We believe that each person must repent, turn from sin and trust Christ to accept him or her.

JUSTIFICATION:
We believe that when we turn from sin and trust in Christ, the old record is sin is wiped clean and we are born again, thus becoming part of the family of God.

SANCTIFICATION:
We believe that after being born again, we need the fullness of God’s Spirit in our hearts. When we make a complete commitment to Him, He cleanses our spirit, fills us with His perfect love, and gives us the power to live victoriously.

THE CHURCH:
We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ, carrying on His mission through the power of the Holy Spirit.

BAPTISM:
We believe in baptism and urge people to be baptized as Christians.

THE LORD’S SUPPER:
We believe in the Lord’s Supper and what it represents.

DIVINE HEALING:
We believe that God can heal. We pray for healing. We also believe that He can work through medical science.

THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST:
We believe that Jesus Christ is coming again.

RESURRECTION, JUDGMENT, & ETERNAL DESTINY:
We believe in the resurrection of the dead, that the bodies of all who have died will be raised to life and united with their spirits. We believe that everyone will face the judgment of God with its rewards and punishments, eternal life with God for those in Christ and eternal separation from God known as hell for those who aren’t.
